Tailgating is the cultural uniqueness of LSU, marking a vibrant and euphoric celebration of home football games. Before every home game, LSU welcomes thousands of visitors across the country to cherish and support the spirit of home football. Tailgaters gather in numbers, reside in golden and purple tents, and cook mouth-watering spicy southern specialties such as; Cajun cuisine and gambo. Not just the aroma of Cajun spices but the music and laughter fill every corner of campus to cherish the tradition where the heart of Louisiana comes alive to unite every fan to celebrate a big home game.

Students from the Biological Science department enthusiastically participate in continuing this tradition. Tailgating provides them an excellent opportunity to take some time off from work and hang out with friends and colleagues. Daleth Del Salto, a third-year grad student, remarks that it's an excellent opportunity for relaxation and socializing. Rohit Jha, another student in the department, said he enjoys cooking and playing fun games with friends the most.

The majority of the students find spending time with peers more relaxing and enjoyable than the game itself. Abdul Ada, a senior grad student, notes that if more events like tailgating were available, students would be eager to participate. In essence, tailgating provides an excellent opportunity for BioGrads to socialize, relax, and participate to cherish not just the LSU football game but the vibrant culture of Louisiana!
